K., a 13-year-od girl, visited me along with her mother in October 2019. Since previous June she had a rash from her left thumb up her arm and to her back. The dermatologist diagnosis was Linear Lichen Planus.
But what is Linear Lichen Planus? It is a quite often self-limited rash, appearing mainly at children. It consists of red papules forming a continual or interrupted band, extending to the upper limb and torso. Except for that, there is no other symptom. Its average duration is about a year and it gradually subsides. There is no conventional cure for that, so the dermatologist said they would need to be patient.
K. and her family had been my clients. Since they had already experienced the benefits of Homeopathy, they lay their trust in it once again. The reason was that K. did not feel comfortable with that rash. It was quite visible and she was often asked at school what it was, which made her feel awkward. Further than aesthetics, we know in Homeopathy that the existence of a symptom manifests a deeper disorder, which is good to be reversed for the benefit of the organism.
I took K.’s history once again. Through asking questions on her reactions, school behavior, relationships with other children, dietary preferences, thirst for water, sleep, reaction to cold and heat, and following overall evaluation, I prescribed her the appropriate homeopathic remedy.
A month later the rash had shrunk to half of its initial extension and intensity.
The remedy was repeated once again and following one more month the rash had completely disappeared, leaving behind just a two-tone effect, as the lichen had caused hypopigmentation to the skin. That gets gradually restored through melanin production by the skin.
This was a mild and also permanent treatment, especially concerning a very sensitive age group, which are the children, in a case when conventional medicine had no solution to offer.
