In an atmosphere of trust and acceptance, the client is asked to describe in full detail the symptoms he experiences in a physical and also psycho-intellectual level, to define their commencement and the course they have followed and track all factors which may have a positive or negative effect on them, such as, emotional conditions, events, particular habits or environmental conditions. That way, a clear picture can be shaped of how, when and why a symptom may appear.
Through questions during history taking, the person is initiated in the process of recalling and connecting information about his illness which up until then were completely scattered. He has the opportunity to observe the disease from a distance and divest it of any “demonic” dimension so as to be able to take up all action required in order to restore his health.
In Homeopathy, history taking is quite extensive since it aims at the creation of one as complete as possible psychosomatic profile of the patient, in order for the therapist to choose the most suitable homeopathic treatment for that particular individual.
Once the first appointment is set, a thorough patient history form as well as a form concerning the complete diet content of the previous week are emailed to the patient.
There follows the first session, of a duration of 1.5-2 hours. Full homeopathic history is taken and the proper homeopathic treatment is prescribed. Evaluation sessions ensue, at times decided depending on the therapy process.
Quitting coffee is not necessary, unless it is considered through patient’s history that is has a negative effect on his organism.
What must be also noted is that after commencement of treatment there is no need to stop taking conventional drugs. That can be considered during the course of treatment by the respective, specialized physician.
